Who is eligible for Travel Medical Annual Multi-Trip and where can I travel?

To buy this plan, you must be a resident of a U.S. state or Washington, D.C., and at least 14 days old and younger than 80 years. You are then covered for international trips, and coverage begins after you depart the United States.

Some destination restrictions apply. This plan is not available to New York residents. Ask our agents about other plans that may fit your needs.

How long am I covered and how many trips can I take?

When you buy this plan before your first trip, you’re covered for unlimited trips during the course of a year as long as each trip does not exceed the trip length you select at purchase. Choose from 30-, 45-, and 60-day trip lengths.

Travel Assistance Services

When the unexpected happens, Seven Corners’ emergency travel assistance team is there for you. We’ll help you find a doctor, arrange emergency medical evacuations, provide interpretation support, and more. Travel assistance services are a non-insurance benefit and are provided by Seven Corners Assist.

All benefits shown are in U.S. dollar amounts. All medical, dental, and vision benefits are subject to the deductible. Unless otherwise stated, all benefits are per person, per period of coverage, and they are provided up to the amount shown.

Travel Medical Expenses

The medical maximum is $1,000,000 for travelers up to age 69 and $100,000 for 70 to 79 years. It covers the following:

  • Inpatient and outpatient care
  • Emergency room services, urgent care visits, and ambulance
  • Dental — Sudden Relief of Pain up to $250 per occurrence
  • Dental — Accident up to $500 per occurrence
  • Emergency Eye Exam up to $100 per occurrence

Adventure Activities

Covers more adventurous activities up to the medical maximum. Adventure activities include:

  • Bungee jumping
  • Caving or spelunking
  • Hang gliding, parachuting, paragliding, parasailing, hot air ballooning as a passenger
  • Jet skiing, kayaking (excluding white water), bodyboarding, wakeboard riding waves up to two feet high as forecasted by the National Weather Service or similar government entity, water skiing, surfing, windsurfing
  • Motorcycle up to 250 cc or motor scooter riding, whether as a passenger or a driver, micromobility vehicles
  • Scuba diving only to a depth of 30 meters with a breathing apparatus, provided you are SSI-, PADI- or NAUI-certified
  • Snowmobiling
  • Zip lining
  • Sky diving in tandem with an instructor
  • Non-hunting safaris, including boat safaris, bush walking, camping or lodging, game drives, horseback or camel safaris, night safaris, or walking safaris

You must buy this optional coverage if you wish to be covered while riding a motorcycle, motor scooter, micromobility vehicle, or similar transportation when such transportation is an established and accepted routine means of public transportation for hire in the area of the host country where you are visiting.

You must follow all applicable laws, safety regulations provided by the tour operator, park, or preserve, and all guide instructions for safari coverage to apply.

  • Pays up to $5,000
  • Reimburses you for the cost of economy travel minus the credit for an unused ticket to return home plus reasonable accommodations, meals, and local transportation if you interrupt your trip for a covered reason. 
Trip Delay
  • Pays up to $250 per day, 2-day limit per occurrence
  • Reimburses you for the cost of accommodations, meals, and local transportation if your trip is delayed 12 or more consecutive hours due to a covered reason.
Loss of Checked Baggage
  • Pays up to $150 per item; $600 per occurrence 
  • Reimburses you for lost or damaged baggage and personal effects you checked with a common carrier like an airline. 
Baggage Delay
  • Reimburses you up to $250 per occurrence
  • Covers necessary personal items bought on a trip because your checked baggage was delayed by a common carrier for at least 24 hours

Limited benefits plans are insurance products with reduced benefits intended to supplement comprehensive health insurance plans. This insurance is not an alternative to comprehensive coverage. It does not provide major medical or comprehensive medical coverage and is not designed to replace major medical insurance. Further, this insurance is not minimum essential benefits as set forth under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Where applicable, benefits are covered URC to the medical maximum you select. URC means Usual, Reasonable, and Customary. It is the maximum amount we will pay for covered expenses based on several factors. See the definition in the plan document for more details. All coverages are provided up to the amount stated.

*Arrangement of the above benefits are not insurance and are handled by Seven Corners Assist. If you do not contact Seven Corners Assist, the benefit will be limited to the amount we would have paid if Seven Corners Assist was utilized. Destination Restrictions: We cannot cover trips to Afghanistan, Antarctica, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Haiti, Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, Israel, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), Lebanon, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Mali, Myanmar, Palestinian Territory Occupied, Russian Federation, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Ukraine, Venezuela, Yemen, United States and U.S. territories.

Once you complete your purchase, you will immediately receive a receipt, a summary of your benefits, an ID card, and a copy of the plan document. The plan document is a legal document that explains how your coverage works, including a list of exclusions. We recommend you read your plan document so you understand how your plan works.

As defined by this plan, a covered trip is a period of travel outside your home country with defined departure and return dates. A covered trip begins the moment you depart your home country and ends when you return to your home country or remain outside your home country longer than the trip length option you purchased (30, 45, or 60 days).

No. Whether you’ve been planning a trip for months or decide to take a spur-of-the-moment getaway, you do not need to notify us before you travel. You’ll still be covered by your annual plan.

We will refund your payment if you notify us in writing before your effective date, which is the start date of your plan.

Your underwriter is HDI Global Specialty SE, which is rated A+ (Superior) by AM Best 2024.

Seven Corners will handle your travel medical insurance needs from start to finish. We will process your purchase, provide all documents, and handle any claims. In addition, our own in-house team, Seven Corners Assist, will handle your travel assistance needs, including emergency services such as emergency medical evacuations and repatriations. Travel assistance services are not insurance and are not affiliated with HDI Global Specialty SE. They are provided by Seven Corners Assist.

Travel medical benefits and coverage

Travel Medical Annual Multi-Trip provides primary coverage for all benefits other than Loss of Checked Baggage. Loss of Checked Baggage is secondary coverage for this plan.

Outside of the United States — Seven Corners has a large international directory of providers, and many of them will bill Seven Corners direct for treatment they provide. We recommend you contact us for a referral, but you may seek treatment at any facility.

We do not guarantee payment to a facility or individual until we determine the expense is covered by the plan.

A pre-existing condition is any injury or illness that exists in the 12 months before your coverage begins. This includes a condition you were diagnosed with, received treatment for, were recommended treatment for, or that existed with reasonable medical certainty whether or not it manifested, was symptomatic, known, or disclosed.

Pre-existing conditions are covered by Travel Medical Annual Multi-Trip by the Acute Onset of Pre-Existing Conditions benefit. This can be a complicated subject, so we recommend you read your plan document and contact us if you have questions.

PPACA – Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act

This insurance is not subject to and does not provide certain insurance benefits required by the United States’ Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“PPACA”). PPACA requires certain U.S. citizens or U.S. residents to obtain PPACA compliant health insurance, or “minimum essential coverage.” PPACA also requires certain employers to offer PPACA compliant insurance coverage to their employees. Tax penalties may be imposed on U.S. residents or citizens who do not maintain minimum essential coverage, and on certain employers who do not offer PPACA compliant insurance coverage to their employees. In some cases, certain individuals may be deemed to have minimum essential coverage under PPACA even if their insurance coverage does not provide all of the benefits required by PPACA. You should consult your attorney or tax professional to determine whether the policy meets any obligations you may have under PPACA.
